2.0 Tsi Engine Problems

Hi Everyone,

First post here, I bought a Candy White 2.0 Tsi DSG Scirocco a couple of weeks ago. I was very pleased with it up until about half an hour ago when it juddered a little bit from a standstill and flashed the EML light rapidly while driving. When it pulled to a stop a few hundred yards later it was running very roughly, possibly on 3 cylinders. Turned it off quickly and read the codes using a cheap reader and Torque Pro. There were several codes, including P0011.

I tried to start it up again and it would just about fire but was misfiring badly and would not idle, it just spluttered and stopped.

The specific codes that I have seen seem to relate to a camshaft position sensor but the fact that it wont now run makes me suspect a possible timing chain tensioner failure or similar. Is this the most likely scenario, is there anything else that could cause this sort of issue?

It is under warranty, so its unlikely to be the end of the world but I hoped to get an idea how long its likely to be out of commission for.

Thanks all.
