Scirocco Central

As per title, just started experiencing this issue. Remote still unlocks & operates boot but won’t lock. Also noticed the windows not going back up the last inch when the door is shut. Checked all the wires & fuses but can’t see any issues. I have resynced the key as suggested in another thread but still no joy. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it fair to assume the 2 issues are related?

Just had door card off again & no broken wires or anything immediately obvious. Also got a genuine vcds with no codes when in the drivers door section of central computer

Make a fault scan with vcds

If you haven't done so already, try dis-connecting the battery for a short period to reset the control modules to see if that works otherwise as said above, a full VCDS scan to check fault codes.

Ok thanks, battery disconnect didn’t sort. Do I need to do a full scan or can it be done on just the door modules?

No faults in the module but 42 - malfunction when doing a full scan

If I run a test, I can hear the actuators flicking but doors don’t lock. If I go into the measuring section of the software, the status of the interior button changes & clearly shows lock when pressed so can I assume it’s not a wiring or coding issue so more likely to be an issue with the lock itself?

Edit: in fact both sides lock & unlock during the output test so motor is working

Also total closure works on key so confirms the lock button on key works

Well the Rocco had a hissy fit whilst I defaulted the door module & stopped the window from going up but managed to sort that. Also managed to get it to throw code:

1038, central locking thermal protection

Don’t know if this was window related or if there’s a mircroswitch that caused both but had no codes before & not had this one back. Still not lock function though

Auto lock doesn’t function either. Not even firing solenoid so gonna replace drivers door latch / mechanism when back from holiday & see if it sorts it
