After a cold spell my windscreen pump stopped working. After trying everything I eventually asked a vw mechanic who told me to disconnect the battery wait 30 seconds then reconnect which resets the computer which solved the problem. Hope this helps

Yes it has no seperate fuse. If this doesnt work then it's toast.

VW went down an odd route.
If the motor is solid (frozen) and you try to use it it’ll throw a code and stop power to the motor. Plug it in, clear the codes and I bet it’ll work. We get it every year in our work caddy vans

Disconnecting the battery for a period can reset the module, so it's always worth a try.
The module senses the current and if it goes above a pre-determined value power is removed incase it's a short and to.protect the wiring. If the fluid freezes and the motor stalls the current spikes causing the module to shut down.
