[/list]2009 2.0TSI DSG

Last time I tried it I forgot to turn off ESP and the car was trying to push with the brakes on.

Also what are the pluspoints of driving without ESP? I only see wheelspin..

Driving without ESP will give you a better feel of what the car can do and its limits. Day to day I keep it on in my R but when going for a hard drive it has to go off! Makes everything even more fun.

As your car is DSG it will have launch control. You just need to go though the correct procedure including switching off ESP and it will work. Note, the engine and gearbox need to be at normal operating temps for it to work.

Procedure is;
1. Left foot on brake
2. Select Sport
3. Switch off ESP
4. Apply maximum throttle (revs should hold at at a defined value)
5. Let off brake, small delay and off you go...

Even although you can switch off ESP, on a 2009 Scirocco it's not fully off and will step in regardless, albeit a little later than when it's on to protect you.

Thanks for the answer.

Although I've read on the forums before that the early DSG models are known to fail due to LC. Is any of that true or is it more like a hoax? That's the main reason why I haven't tried it

Haha just tried it a few times, lots of fun :D
Also I felt like suspension changed it felt like it was preparing, thought first it was trying to push with the brakes on. :eyepop:

Haven't really tried it a lot (some ppl said that the DSG can fail because of LC in early models) but I don't know if there really is a big difference between LC and just flooring it in S(with ESP) :yummy:

The early ones like my 09 does not seem to last - something big breaks and when its gets plugged in at vw or whoever they can tell what you have been up-to. So at that time you would have voided the warranty. Now you just need to risk it and hope it does not break.

Thanks for the answer,

Yes I get that they can check the logs of the car and see what you did.

Does it only break after using/abusing LC certain times or..? I've only done it like 3.. maybe 4 times since I had the car (3 months ago, 65k km's on it so far which is around 40k miles). So far the cars drives perfect and switches gear smoothly without dropping or slipping the clutch. Obv I will not use the LC if it leads to breaking/wearing the DSG.

How did you notice/what did you experience when your DSG was dying (breaking)?

EDIT: The car is from Augustus 2009 it also has the modernized interface screen (not the red interface which looks dated) and the updated steering wheel incase that matters.
