Advice RE EA189 and car failing to start please

I purchased a GT TDI 2.0 Scirocco a month ago. It has been perfect up until Friday when it just would not start. I’ve had it in the garage who have had it all weekend and cannot find the problem. They were able to start it by using a flammable liquid and mentioned the EGR valve early on. This got me researching and led me to find that the EA189 emission scandal “fix” has caused a number of issues including the EGR valve failing presumably due to all the extra use. Most of the posts indicate that the issues started immediately which has not been the case for me (my fix was completed before I bought the car although I do not know when). Fortunately I have 12 months warranty and 30 day exchange through VW. The garage to date still cannot find the cause of the issue, although it is running fine now. I cannot find anywhere anyone indicating any serious problems like mine since the ea189 fix. I love the Scirocco and do not want to go through the hassle of exchanging it but I’ve read so much into the emission fix failings that I have convinced myself this is linked. Do I cut my ties and try to exchange for another vehicle (and in doing so be forced to leave this great forum); try a new purchase agreement for a Scirocco outside of the affected years (meaning a change from HP to PCP if the dealer/credit lender will allow); risk it with my Scirocco which I love but knowing it has an undiagnosed fault and not knowing if it could happen again. I’m hoping that my car issue is not linked to this EA189 update but I’ve read far too much into it now to be comfortable with a car that *may* be problematic.
