Hello guys, I have some questions about convenience menu (the mirrors?)
My car is a 2009 2.0TSI model.
I got the car two weeks ago but I didn't really bother with the menu settings to much until now and I got some questions. The interface is set in English which is fine by me but it isn't my mother language.
What does all of these settings do/mean? I mean door open... What does that mean, yes my door is open..?
Window op.?
Etc
When I click through door open I get these settings but I don't know what the hell they mean
Mirror adjustment. The mirrors are in a fine spot but I was wondering what does this mean and how can I change the angle?
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is the famous window op. What does that even mean
I came accross this youtube video about putting your mirrors down when in reverse, I tried it but it doesn't work for some reason.

Thanks in advance, zanic.

Door Op - I can't remember as it's been a while since I adjusted mine. It will probably be whether just the driver's door opens on one push of the unlock button or both doors open. Normally you need to.push twice for the passenger door to open.
Window Op - this is the auto closure function and what windows you want to open / close when you hold the lock / unlock button on the keyfob. Off disables the auto closure / open function.
Mirror Down - this activates the passenger mirror drop down on reverse.
Mirror Adjust - When you adjust the driver's door mirror the passenger mirror automatically adjusts by the same amount to make it easier if multiple driver's use the car. This setting allows you to disable it so the mirrors adjust independently.
The mirror dip on reverse only works on the passenger side door mirror. You need to set the mirror switch to "L" for RHD or "R" for LHD.for the function to operate. When in "L" or "R" you can adjust the dip position of the mirror using the joystick and it's position is stored. When you start driving or adjust the mirror switch to another position the mirror will return to it's normal set position. If it doesn't seem to dip then you need to set the dip position as described.
You should really try and get hold of an owner's manual as it will make your life so.much each easier and let you enjoy all the little features it has.

Hey thanks a lot for the input mate, but how can I adjust the mirrors? Which joystick? Any idea where I can get a hold off the manual?

The dipping mirror was only brought in in 2010 I think. My 09 certainly didn't have it.
Is the manual not in the slot at the top of the glovebox?

The mirror switch on the door is the joystick. You rotate it to the "L" or "R" position and then use it as a joystick (up / down / left / right) to adjust the mirror. If set to "O" then that prevents accidental adjustment and the other position as shown in the video is the "heating" position to switch on the mirror heating. On cars with optional folding mirrors there is also a "fold" position.
You can buy a manual from VW or pick one up from eBay.
If you're struggling to adjust the mirrors then you really are in need of the manual.

Oh you meant the switches (=joystick), I tried that but as kev said above it's probably not included in the sub 2010 models, thanks for the input anyways

Your convenience menu has the mirror dip on reverse enable / disable option so that implies your car has it.

I've put it in the R (I'm from belgium so we drive/sit left) and put it reverse but it never changes the angle

Double check that mirror dip is ticked in the convenience menu
While in Reverse and mirror switch set to "R" adjust the mirror position using the mirror switch (up / down / left / right) to the position you want it to be in dipped. Now set your mirror switch to "0" and the mirror should return to it's normal position. Put it back to "R" and it should return to the dip position.

I will try that later today, thanks

How do I actually adjust the mirrors? I'm really confused they are electric right?

To adjust the mirrors you use the mirror switch on the door as a joystick. If you feel it you can push it up, down, left and right. I don't know how many more times I can say the same thing
Rotate is into the "L" or "R" position and then use as a joystick to adjust.

Omg yes u are right. I didn't get it about the joystick part... I thought it was only a switch button

Thank feck for that as I was losing the will to live
Note my post above about the passenger mirror automatically compensating when you adjust the driver's mirror. Set the driver's side first and then adjust the passenger's side or enable independent operation in the convenience menu.

Hey today I found out that it's actually able to dip the window down while in reverse, I had some free time and played a bit with it
