TPMS Fault code 01325 (J502)

Hi,
Ever since I bought my car the tyre pressure warning light on the dash has been on. I've held in the reset button for around 10 seconds and all the warning light does is flicker once and stays on. I've then taken the car to a tyre garage who found a nail in one of the tyres so fixed that and set all tyres to 33psi and pressed the reset button again. Still nothing, the light stays on so we plugged in a diagnostic kit and the code 01325 control module for tire pressure monitoring (J502) came up.
The garage was just about closing so didn't have time to check components but tbh I don't want to be paying loads at a garage. I have asked VW but they are wanting £85 an hour to run a diagnostic and then £85 an hour to work on the car to find the fault.
I've been told they don't have sensors in the valves so just thinking of any option it could be is the monitoring system a box located somewhere easy where I could check for a loose wire?
Would anyone have a clue what this problem could be as I'm totally least and hate seeing a warning light on the dash. Any help would be great before I take the plunge and take it to VW.
Thanks Tom

The system uses the wheel speed sensors to detect a drop in pressure by the change of rolling resistance on each wheel. The system doesn't measure actual pressure but detects a drop based on a datum recorded when the reset button is pressed.

Ahh right ok, what would be making the light stay on though? As it doesn't turn off at all. All tyres are ok apart from one where I can hear it humming when I'm driving as it's been on since the car was new ( 6 years ago). It's like when I press the reset button it's not resetting, it's just making it flicker once and stays on.

There must be a fault as the light should go off and you should hear a "bong" after holding the reset button for 2 - 3 secs. I've heard of the reset button coming loose in the glovebox and not working but the fact it's "flickering" implies the push of the button is being detected.

Yes exactly my thought, the button seems to be working fine itsjuat the light is not going off at all. I've asked a few people and someone has mentioned something about changing the TPMS option with VCDS. He's said if the wrong setting is ticked the light can stay on?

Why would someone change it?

You say it's been on since you bought the car. What did the seller say to explain it away?

He said it's been on since he bought the car and he has taken it to the garage and they couldn't find the fault. Don't know how much I believe of that but I knew there was a puncture when I bought the car so just bought it was that at the time.

Still no luck up to now with the car, been to a garage to plug in VCDS and it came up with the fault code that I have posted and the guy said it can't connect to the TPMS / the monitoring system?
