I think my clutch has been slipping on my 2.0 tsi for the last few weeks now, pretty much only under full or near full throttle at 2-3k rpm, due to high torque when the turbo kicks in ? The revs shoot up immediately with little increase in speed then slowly catch up. The car is standard mechanically no remaps etc, its still on its first clutch and has done 62k. Now today its no longer slipping, even under full throttle up to 6k rpm nothing at all. Could it be something other than the clutch or should i get it changed now before it goes altogether?

Was it wet out? Best way to check is to be in 6th at low RPM then full throttle and if it does what you describe above the clutch is slipping and will need to be replaced.

sorry for late reply, it has been doing it in both the wet and dry makes no difference. I tried what you said in 6th low rpm, full throttle and it slipped last week. But i cant get it to slip now no matter what i try very confusing?

It could be the temperature of the friction material. The higher it is the more chance of it slipping which in turn causes it to increase and slip.

To be honest I would just drive your car normally and not try to force it to slip

If it's slipping then you need to replace it. You shouldn't keep it slipping, IE if you're accelerating and it starts to slip, back off, don't keep accelerating as that will just wear it out even more..

Mines started doing that, and my dual mass flywheel is going as well. Just ordered them up for replacement arrived last week.
