hi all
where do i get an updated version of maps for my scirocco R its a 2011 non dab rns510 stereo i think. will post a picture of the stereo if this helps if i have the model correct

What version have you got (Newest is 2013 I think off the top of my head)
also what region do you need, the is WEST , EAST Europe then US and more.

Depending on the firmware of the RNS, you can update your maps up to V14 (2017 - only West Europe).

Hi all well had a look at scirocco this morning and the cars position is out on the sat nav and there is 0/13 satellites showing on the screen. Tried doing a reset and a cold start but still the same issue. Can you reset the compass and if so how do you do it.

V14 was released in 2016 pretty sure that does not make it 2017. lol and this is the most up to date and I believe possibly final

have that problem myself, I reckon its cuz I tucked the sat nav Puck above the RNS when I installed it, I want to get a GPS sharkfin to hopefully solve this.

mine normally sorts itself after when i get back in the car the next day (Note RNS does not fully turn off by just stopping and starting the ignition and removing the key)

My rns510 is factory fitted from new the gps position senser is between the air vents above the the sat nav unit

What? that doesn't make sense, the Factory got the Nav in the sharkfin? if you don't have nav the sharkfin is a dummy

It's got a shark fin on the car but I was told the gps antenna was just above the Rns510 between the air vents

You can put it there, but that's an aftermarket place to stuff it, have you owned the car from new?

Relax, I didn't say I know more than you about the subject.. I know it got released in 2016, but it is "considered" 2017.

GPS antenna is the shark fin for factory fit. Mine lost its position about 18 months ago and was due to the antenna developing a fault. A replacement antenna was the fix.

Thanks a lot for all the help guys. So looking like I need to replace the shark fin antenna does anybody have the part number for this at all

May be worth confirming if it is retofitted in your car otherwise a new fine would be a waste of money, especially if you've been told the attena is elsewhere.

Easy way to tell is the size of the fine, large fin is gps small is not.

Sat nav was factory fitted from new so looking at shark fin then.

Do we always have to buy the latest map cd to update maps?

So my Headunit says I have HW version H05, SW version 6276 and map version 8117. How does that compare with V14?

I think 6276 is latest for the RNS,
