Clutch Pedal Judder/ Pulsating

Hi All!

I am new to the forum, and new to the Rocco scene!

I have just picked up a 62 plate 2.0 Bluemotion TDI Scirocco with 65k miles on the clock. Love everything about it, but couldnt help but notice something rather strange that I haven't felt on other cars. Thought i'd pop the question on here and see if it was a common thing :? :?

When I depress the clutch pedal, I can feel a vibration/pulsation in the pedal. It is worst when the pedal is only just slightly pushed in, and fades away the more the clutch is depressed.

It is most noticeable when I drive in a lower gear with high revs (2-3000 rpm) and slightly rest my foot on the pedal. This leads me to believe it must be related to engine speed. It isn't violent movement in the pedal, and I can't feel any clutch slip. However, it does feel like a strong 'massage' vibration.

This is the first diesel and first VW I have owned, so I am not sure if this is normal or not?

I must also note, I understand riding the clutch (only just depressing the pedal) is not a good driving style and not something I do. I however noticed the vibration during gear changes and played with the pedal, which caused me to notice it became worse when only slightly depressed and at high revs.

If you're unhappy I would be taking it back to the dealer sooner rather than later

I plan on taking it to an independent VW specialist over the weekend to have a feel of the pedal.

As mentions it isn't too bad, but something I'd rather get fixed if it is on its way out.

I am guessing this is not common behaviour of the pedal?

It's fine. I thought the same when I bought mine 18 months ago ... it's normal on the diesels.

It's totally normal. All diesel VW's I've driven have don ehtis.
