Guys. People are generally very quick to point out poor customer service or dodgy individuals, and the internet is rife with negative reviews, so I'm going to buck that trend and call out a recent positive experience I had with one of our forum colleagues.
A couple of weeks ago I bought a pair of Scirocco R rear lights from dstill. I paid my money and waited for the lights to arrive, eagerly anticipating the difference they'd make when fitted to my car. Unfortunately, when they arrived it became clear that the shippers had had difficulty understanding the several large 'fragile' stickers on the package as, despite being well wrapped, both lights (and the boxes they were packed in) had been damaged and were, therefore, of no use to me.
I quickly let Dave know about this unfortunate turn of events. This was his opportunity to cite 'caveat emptor' and deny all responsibility (after all, he had my money and it wasn't his problem that the shippers were illiterate!). Instead, I got total ownership, an immediate apology and a promise to refund, in full, my money. I received the cheque today and just wanted to take the opportunity to publicly acknowledge this excellent example of customer service.
Dave, you are a true gent. Thank you.
