electronic shock absorbers

hi all can someone help , just had my 20ltr tdi 140 moted , sadly failed on leaking shock , my question is if i replace my std shocks with coil overs ect will have a fault on the dash if the electronic ones are unplugged ? is there a way around this ? or does it not throw a fault when unplugged , also any advice on what coil overs to fit dont want the car too low as i have some tall speed bumps around where i live , thanks in advance

Yip, if you fit coilovers and lose the electronic dampers you will get a fault. The light on the switch will just flash. You could just unplug the switch if it annoy you.

A replacement shock is about 200quid

If you decide to replace with another OEM shocker, it's good practice to replace in pairs.
