occasional loss of power pulling away in 1st gear.

Hey guys I gave owned my 2009 Rocco for a month and a half now and have noticed a problem when pulling away in first gear very occasionally.
I attempt to pull away after stopping and get no power at all. The car starts to pull away maybe up to 4-5 mph and then i get nothing. The engine doesn't start to rev up until after a second or two and then it springs into action like nothing happened.
I have noticed this longer drives 1hr+ as well as shorter runs to work and back.
Another thread on here with the same issue seemed to think it was a slight engine miss fire but never got back to update us on if that was the problem or not.
Could a carbon build up in the engine be another possibility limiting air into the engine at low speed ?
The car has been serviced every 10,000 miles at a vw dealership and was only had a service and mot just before i purchased it.
Any help or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
