Quite simply, your clutch is slipping. It could be worn or contaminated. The more it slips the worse it will get so avoid full throttle in higher gears and drive with some mechanical sympathy until fixed.

Solution is new clutch and pressure plate. Personally, I would also replace the slave cylinder and thrust bearing too, when the gearbox is off.

Get your wallet out...

No, as no warranty will cover existing issues plus warranties tend not to cover clutch friction plate as it's a wear and tear item, the life of which depends upon driving style.

So i just took it to kwikfit they said its the clutch asked me if i had it remapped told em yeh they said its because of that the clutch cant handle it anymore etc..
i am thinking to take it to vw and have them do the emmision software update which will wipe the remap off reckon that will do it?

Once a clutch starts slipping the damage tends to have been done. The remap coupled with your driving style will have contributed to it. Removing the remap and as such reducing the torque will help but I'm sure it will still slip to some degree as even the standard diesel produces a relatively high torque.

They told me a new clutch will cost £1200 ;( No way can i pay that lol
If i had known the remap could do this i would have never got it done

Yep, one the clutch starts to slip is only a matter of time till it goes altogether (usually a matter of weeks, if not less)

People just don't realise that remapping a car and putting more power through it than it was designed for is going to end up wearing things out faster

But as above, removing the map won't solve the problem i'm afraid, the damage has already been done

Oh, and please, for the love of God, don't get any work done by Kwik Fit, find a decent independent garage, or a VW specialist and shop around for quotes, don't bother asking VW either, as they will have your pants down

Are you thinking of trying to changer it yourself, if so, unless you have a decent skill level of working on cars i wouldn't attempt it myself

Sounds about right for an independent garage price

One thing to consider, if you supply the parts yourself to a garage for fitment, what happens if there is an issue after fitment. Garage will just say parts you supplied were faulty and you must pay for the whole job again to have them replaced. If the garage supplies the parts and fits them then there is no ambiguity and the garage is fully responsible for any issue.

Yeah decided to just take it to take a garage and let them do the whole job dont want to end up paying another £600 just to save about £50 lol

You might also need the Dual Mass Flywheel replacing, this is usually checked when the clutch is replaced as its easier to replace when half of the disassembly work has already been done

As a minimum the following should be replaced;
- Clutch friction plate
- Clutch pressure plate
- Clutch release bearing

Depending upon condone the following may require changing;
- Dual Mass Flywheel
- Clutch slave cylinder
