Hi people,

So I had a clunk noise coming from the front when I first reverse or pulled away, VW did a health check and said the control bush was split, so I had both bushes replaced at a local garage and also had a new control arm but the clunk is still there!! Any ideas anyone?? It's really annoying me now. Thanks

Possibly? Would vw have checked the brakes during a health check? I'm going to get the cam belt done next month so I'll get them to investigate the clink again

They would only check the pads and discs for wear during their "health check" or "upselling" exercise.

On a previous car I used to get a clunk the first time I would change direction and it was the pads moving slightlyagainst the caliper.

So the last few days Ive noticed the clunk a couple of times when I turn the ignition on, but it's mainly when I pull away, when Vw did a health check they discovered that the drive shaft boot inner side was leaking grease, could this have anything to do with it? The noise feels like it's coming from below my feet

Possibly a loose subframe if it happens mainly when you pulling away, check torque of the 4 main subframe bolts

Ok cool, its going to the garage tomorrow now so ill get them to check it out, some similar issues on the audi forum suggest it could also be the engine/gearbox mounts
