Scirocco Central

Hi guys,
Tonight my wife was in traffic on the m25 and the car developed a load knocking coming from the area (outside) under the drivers seat. The car is currently being recovered .It has been checked over on the road side and there is not anything visible. The wheel nuts have been checked and the wheels have been given a wobble but this has not shown any problems.

Any ideas ?

Unfortunately from that description it could be pretty much anything. Do you have any more details about the noise e.g. did it happen regularly or at random intervals? did it happen more frequently as engine revs increased? did it happen more frequently as the speed increased? did the knocks seem to coincide with bumps or turns in the road?

Knocking noises can be a pain to diagnose, hopefully with a bit more information someone here will be able to help you out.
