Hello all, again, yes again, my scirocco has now thrown up the fault code P0299, yesterday i was driving, accelerating and the car dropped power and threw the engine management light came up. Got my scanner out and scanned it, came up with that fault code. I was wondering if anyone could help me to what it may be?
Regards Josh.

Error indicates actual boost pressure is not meeting requested pressure.
Numerous things can cause this:

-Boost leak from damaged / loose charge hoses (hoses to and from the intercooler, throttle body etc)
-Faulty N249 Diverter valve, these can break their rubber diaphragm and result in a permanent boost leak
-Faulty N75 boost pressure regulation valve, this controls the wastegate on the turbocharger - effectively controlling boost pressure levels
-Damaged/loose hoses (look like vacuum lines) to and from the N75 valve
-Sticking wastegate actuator on the turbocharger

I would check all the hoses first - charge hoses and lines from the turbo to the N75 valve, look for splits or hoses not on fully.
I'd then remove the N249 diverter valve that's mounted on the turbo charger, and check the diaphragm and seals for any splits.
I'd give the waste gate arm where it meets the turbo hinged section a spray with high temperature lubricant
I would then suspect the N75 valve, this might just be a replace and see if it fixes the issue if nothing obvious stands out on it...it can be tested on the bench with 12 volts and about 20psi of compressed air to see if it opens and closes (holding the pressure) properly.
