Oil temperature

I've been putting different types of fuel in my rocco, expensive BP/normal BP/ shelll vPower nitro, and supermarket fuel. But I've noticed that with different fuels the engine oil temperature is either higher or lower. Low quality asda fuel my temp reaches 100-102. On the more expensive fuels it's generally stuck on 90 max 92 when the right foot is planted. What should be the oil temp and why is there such a big increase? Anything to worry about? 62 plate rocco 2.0tdi 140

Is the outside temperature the same when you measured both?
And same speed, length of trip?
When you have a dpf regeneration oil temperature is also around 5 C higher.

Yeah the outside temp is more or less the same, plus or minus 2 degrees Celsius. It's a mixture of 30/40 mph roads, similar speeds as well. The dpf regen is something I didn't think about, but when I do hammer it a bit [emoji849] it does quickly rise to 100 degrees [emoji848]

Image I don't feel like takin any risks at the moment so I've got the AC on for the fan to come on and cool it down before driving off again [emoji24]

The oil temps you are talking about are perfectly normal. You only need to worry when the oik temps gets over 125 - 130 degrees

The oil temp is a good indicator of engine load. Even going up a small include you will see the temp increase quickly and vice versa when going down a hill.

Yes probably caused because off a lot of stopping and pulling up in combination with not very high speed driving.
With this temperatures mine is sitting around 93/94 on 130 km/h cruise. And around 90 when driving 80 km/h on cruise. 96-100 degrees when driving 150 on cruise. I use 5w30 oil.
