So I'd like bigger brakes!

It's been clearly identified that I've bought an R with some kind of remap on it. Not sure what yet but that's a mission for this year.

The problem is that it's more powerful than its brakes can cope with imho!

Simple answer would be TTRS calipers and TTS discs with adapter kit. But id rather not use spacers on my wheels. Not interested in shortening bearing life or changing geometry as s result of a 30mm wider front track.

Any options that will fit under 19" taladega wheels!?

Can I retain brake pad wear sensors? And if I go 4 pot but keep standard R rears am I likely to have any issues with the master / Slave cylinders and pedal travel.

As my original post states, I'm looking for options that sit under the factory wheels without the use of spacers

Or. I guess, aftermarket wheels with an offset that fit over the bigger brakes without affecting geometry

You will find a kit from AP racing. AP CP7068 calipers. in the rear, a fancier disc from VWR and some upgraded pads will do.
With aftermarket caliper and pads you will loose the brake pad sensor.
You can get rotor hats (bells) with different offsets to suit the caliper offset that you have so clearing the original wheels should be possible with some careful measurement to see how much room you have now.
I would advice to find a workshop that has good experience with this and let them find the best set up for you.
If you get a ready kit then it is plug and play.

If you decide to go for something a bit more exiting. Dare I suggest AP Racing CP-9440-2 calipers and some 330mm discs. The price is not too bad. Those discs are a tad smaller than original but better disc, pads and calipers should make for a better and far lighter system. If you want big, not lighter another option need to be looked at. AP racing 5000 R range of calipers are good and looks great.
For big maybe Tarox 8 or Tarox 10.

One thing to consider while changing to a bigger caliper with more pistons is that more brake fluid need to be moved to move the larger pitons thus you might get more pedal travel. this can be mitigated by replacing the master cylinder also.

I think my intention was to try to use fairly OEM parts (e.g. audi TTRS brakes or Porsche boxter brakes) I undertand that with 4 pots, the standard master cylinder can keep up fine?

Many people talk about using TTRS calipers with 340mm TTS brakes... but surely the Scirocco R already has 340mm brake discs?

You will find in the threads about the TTRS/TTS brake set up that the bigger TTRS discs are prone to warping, and therefore many prefer the smaller TTS disc. With 4 pots you should be fine. you may notice longer pedal travel. But not more than that you learn to use the brakes with it.

But the Tarox 10 though. They are fairly ridiculous.

I take it the offset is wrong to use the standard 345mm discs on the R with TTRS calipers?

Seems crazy to replace existing 345mm discs which work fine, with others

any calipers that go over the existing discs?

I'm also looking at the pbbrakes 4pot 330mm kit

at about twice the price of PBbrakes... no... I haven't

in fact in the UK they are over 3x the price!
