1.4 TSI 160 hp OEM catback - performance loss?

Hi everyone!

I just bought a used scirocco 1.4 tsi a few months ago, i just love it! Every minute in it is absolut joy.

However, the previous owner fitted the car with OEM catback exhaust (i guess its from the R?) without doing anything with rest of the eaxhust system, I mean all the other parts are stock (downpipe etc).

I was wondering if its causing any performance loss on the car? Is it possible? Dont get me wrong, the sound it makes is awesome but a few of my friends drove my car and they all said it doesnt feels like it got 160 hp.

Should i go for a downpipe change or a remap? Or am i talking bs :D.

Thank you for the answers!

Cheers.

Can't see why that would give any loss in performance.

I would do a downpipe with a 200cell cat and then do a re-map if not both at the same time :) would make a big difference!
