Dashboard removal

Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with the climatronic on my 15 2.0 Diesel. When the temperature for both passenger and driver are set to high or above 22 a high pitched squeal comes from the dash. Sounds like a bearing to me but the dealer thinks its the vents. They replaced the motor already and next they said its a full dashboard removal to get at the fans. Any opinions anyone? Will the car ever be the same again if i go down this route?
