I was thinking of buying the media input cable for my 2010 Roco, I have an iPhone 6+ what functions will be I be able to control once plugged in with the media cable? I've seen cheap ones which are basically an aux cable and lightning cable so it charges but plays through aux which seems a bit pointless if you could already just use the standard aux, will the media in cable enable me to control through my head unit?

Thought about investing in a Bluetooth module and retrofitting instead? Not cheap, but great benefits and you don't have to leave your phone plugged into the centre all the time haha

Having a problem with my aux input, seems to be a loose connection inside. Just wondering if there is any easy solution for this as I ain't the technical kind of person! Also been looking at the media input cable and was wondering whether the cheap ones what say suitable for a golf would work on the rocco or just play safe and pay the money for the rocco one? Thanks in advance!

I bought a cheap media cable mate, utter rubbish pay the money for a decent one, personally I just use an SD card now so much easier.

Not sure I'd agree there.
Doing it properly with the official iPod adapted (as I've always recommended) gives several advantages:
-syncing with iTunes over wifi ensures my phone is always up to date with my full library
-better control over playlists
-better organisation of artists (instead of the shitstorm that happens when you move iTunes files onto a basic storage medium)
-faster (sd cards get slow, and are limited in file structure)
I tried using Mdi with just a large usb stick, it was a navigational nightmare for a large music collection.
