Hi Guys

Just wondered what peoples thoughts on good but not too expensive tyres around £120 were?

My current tyres: I have 2x hankook ventus v12 evos on the front done 7 months and 8'500 miles and they are on 3mm
2x falken not sure of the model on the rear was on 6.5mm when bought the car after 12 months and 13'500 miles there on 6mm!

you're running a stage 1 GT... don't scrimp on tyres

When I was looking into it, Michelin Pilot Supersports from black circles, were pretty much the same cost as standard continentals etc at around £140 per tyre.

IMHO for the sake of £20 a corner, why shortchange your car, just get the best!

A few use Eagles assymetric tyres on here. I use Pirelli P zeros and have done since I got the car - they dont last the longest... but since cutting down my driving (6000miles a year), I easily stretch them to up to 18 months

I second what Shrink said. Super sports... £110 per corner (unfitted). Also came with shed loads of Tesco points haha... If you collect them of course...

Continental sport contact 5 get good reviews. £113 a corner fitted.

Thoughts on the Hankook v12's? I was looking at these myself.

My car has Bridgestone potenza S01's and I think they are excellent!

I actually really like the Hankook's shame they don't last as long as I would like might be because of the remap and my slightly heavy right foot sometimes I only get a little wheelspin flooring it in 3rd while damp

I have to admit I don't like the falken's that much, my back end seems to hop around a lot, might be my tracking though as apparently they have stepped on the inside.

Most Sciroccos have the problem with stepped back tyres. It has been said it is the design of the rear suspension. Tracking can improve it though

I've always like Bridgestone Potenzas. Fairly soft though so you won't get much more than 8000 miles out of them. I'm currently running Continental Sport Contact for the first time. So far so good in the wet. I haven't really pushed the limit of their grip in the dry though.

I honestly don't know how people like Continental tyres. Couldn't wait to get the off the car as I thought their grip was rubbish. I'm running Vredstein Ultrac Vorti at the moment, though I think they're only available in 19'+. I had Vredstein Ultrac Setanta on my Clio RS200 and they were excellent too.

I do have Goodyear Eagle F1 on my Scooby and rate them too but they were cheap at the time and in the 17' size I needed (I got all 4 for under £300 fitted).

Everyone i know who has switched from Eagle F1s to Supersports has said they are better, don't know of anyone who has gone back

Reasonable wear and amazing in the wet, I use them as my daily tyres on the Golf and for track days when wet, other times I use Pilot Sport Cups 2s
