Picking up this old thread :)

I have the Garmin dashcam 2 but it doesn't really work. Half the time one cannot connect to it, the stupid app (Drive) needs a Garmin account (with lots of mucking about setting that up), it needs regular app sessions to set its date/time...

Is there something better?

Ideally it should use the micro-USB connector like the Garmin dashcam uses so I don't have to rewire the car (which is quite awkward).

I design electronic stuff and know that date/time sync for a standalone device can be done from GSM (needs a SIM card although it doesn't need to be a paid up one), radio timecode, or GPS. So probably I would be looking at a dashcam which has GPS.

Many thanks for any tips.
