DSG Upshift Speed

Post by SPEEDDRV »

Hey everyone,

I have a 2012 Rocco 2.0 TDI, 140hp... It has a wet clutch, DSG 6. There is something bothering me. I can see on YouTube other VW's upshifting so quick!!! But mine is so slow!

I can give you a few examples for you to understand what I'm saying.

Here you can see it changing gears very fast, on S mode on a 140hp!
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here you can see it changing gears a lot slower, like mine, on S mode!
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Even a GTD is slow and has 170hp!
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

WHY?? Why is my car changing gears so slow, like on second and third video? Aren't all the DSG 6 the same?

Now that is odd! - My last car was 2005 Golf Mk5 2.0 TDI 140, with the DSG 6 speed and would change gears instantly - even faster than that first video.
Never seen a 6 speed change slowly like the other videos - hell those videos are even a lot slower shifting & clutch engagement than my dsg dry clutch 7 Speed I have now:

Must be summit to do with dsg firmware versions.

How fast is it changing gears in manual mode? Any difference?
It's possible to shorten the shifttime by changing dsg software.
See it at 2:00 in this link " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

DSG 7 is faster than DSG 6 because it's a dry clutch. It's different!

But, all those cars have DSG 6, and some are faster than others. I made a video and i'm going to upload it to YouTube, now. I have seen other Sciroccos and some 140hp are faster than mine and some 170hp are slower than mine. But some are faster too! Now that is odd and I simply don't get it! It might be a software "problem"... I don't know.

Already uploaded. As you can see, mine has nothing to do with the first video I mentioned before... I don't think there is a problem with mine, probably just needs SW update, don't know. It's from 2012.
