Diddled on the tax disc?

My Scirocco GT TDI has the correct tax disc for a CO2 band "E" car of £120, yet on my original invoice they've charged £175 for the tax disc (which is what a 2.0TSI should be paying in band "I").

Even though I got a healthy discount, should the tax disc charge be considered separate to the discount on the car, and therefore should I be chasing them for the £55 back?

I'll ask the question at the dealership, as shy bairns get nowt, but has this happened to anyone else with a 2.0TDI (should have a £120 disc) or a 1.4TSI (should have a £150 disc)?

I don't think you were diddled.

You pay an extra £55.00 'First Registration Fee' if it is a brand new car.

Dave,

You could be right, the first registration fee is £55, although I thought that the cost of registration was absorbed into the "delivery" charge along with the numberplates. The whole cost of the car hasn't inflated by £55 since we agreed a price, so I probably wouldn't get it back anyway.

Need to see the dealers about my wipers, so i'll ask while i'm in.
