Scirocco Owner Questions...

Well I've done 350 miles on the Scirocco now and thoroughly enjoying it ... a few questions though, although I've read loads on here! :)

- Servicing ... according to the MFD, not due for 18,000 miles / 754 days! ... really? I plan to keep the car five years so wonder if it's worth changing the oil / filter more often?

- AUTO lights... they seem to be on all the time? Is this right ...?

- Brakes... what to paint manky calipers? Don't want it to look chavvy :D

- Headlights... one of mine has slight 'crazing' in the middle ... anyone had this before? - new light needed? - I might try polishing it out although suspect it is on the inside of the lense.

- DynAudio... I was told it's a 10 speaker system... I can only find 8 speakers... ? :D

It's a 2009 GT 170 with 2010 interior.

You're on longlife service regime, which suits high mileage users. I would recommend that you follow fixed service regime which is every 10k miles or 12 months whichever occurs first.

Sciroccos with halogen headlights have their headlights on all the time in lieu of DRLs making the Auto function redundant. You can change using VCDS

Dynaudio is only 8 speakers in the Scirocco

Thanks Bob. You've come from a Cupra as well? :)

I've noticed if you don't use the Auto function then the coming home / leaving home lights do not work. I have turned off the DRL's so off on the switch is now off, but auto still leaves all the lights on even in direct sunshine.

Auto lights can trigger in direct sunshine to assist other users seeing you incase the sun blinds them.

If you have wipers on Auto and lights on Auto, lights will come on after 4th continuous wipe.

If you have lights on Auto and travel at or above around 80mph the lights automatically come on.

Coming / Leaving Home lights only work on Auto ad they use the dusk sensor to detect when to come on.
