Multifunction Steering Wheel swap

Hi,
I would be interested to know if it is easy/possible to swap a 2008/2009 multifunction steering wheel to the newer leather 2010 onwards multifunction steering wheel?
I'm looking at purchasing an immaculate 2008 2ltr TSI with the old multifunction steering wheel but would only go for it if I knew I could swap it to the new one as the old one looks very dated...
Has anyone tried this?
