Scirocco Central

Hello all, I am new to the VW scirocco so forgive me if this is nothing..
A few times now as I've been driving I have heard a sort of 'bong' noise and then the external temperature reading on the computer flashes for a few seconds, anything to be worried about?

Its telling you its rather cold outside so watch out for the chance of ice Only occurs when it goes from anything above and including 4.5C to below this so it won't happen if you start and its a 3C for example.
