Accelerator pedal coasting

Was just being lazy in a traffic jam on a hill today! So I took it out of gear and just rolled.
While at the same time I was playing around testing the throttle response and realised that over 5mph the throttle pedal goes completely dead until you put over 50% throttle! Strange!
On a more normal note
do all the accelerator pedals have normal dead zone? I can push it a few degrees before anything happens!
