Possible head gasket failure

Hi Guys, Today whilst topping up the oil, I discovered a creamy milky substance on the oil filler cap. My first thought was obviously head gasket failure. After doing some research, I'm now thinking its maybe just condensation due to the recent cold weather and I only make short daily trips to work and back, around 15 minute drive in the morning and again in the evening. There are also no other tell tale signs i.e. car runs fine, temperature steady 90 degrees as usual and hasn't lost a drop of coolant, which is nice and clean. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. It's a 2010 scirocco r with 27000 miles.
Thanks
Rich

It's very common this time of year with cars that only do short journeys. It's caused by condensation and it not getting hot enough to evaporate. Just take the car for a longer run more frequently but it's nothing to worry about.

Yes - they refer to it as 'mayonnaise ' in the trade, but as the other guys have said, nothing to worry about!
