Hey there

I am about to buy a new Scirocco, but one thing is still keeping me from doing so. I am born without my hand in the left side og allthough i could handle the standard cruise control i would really love to move it to right side for handling. Any ideas?
Right now i got an old Ford C-max with builtin cruise control in the stearing wheel right side...i just love it....

Cheers

Hi , i belive its on the left side of the indicator stalk which is attached to the sterring wheel. I dont think it can be swapped to the other side..

Dont mean to be rude but how do you manage to gear change etc without your left hand?

I have my left hand but I can't really use it at all. I can drive a manual but not legally, they Don't like the idea of changing gear & having no hands on the wheel lol

Hey there ;) yes i know its on the left side - but if possible i would like to change it somehow so i can control it from the right side.

Of course its not rude - i prefer people who asks :) - I actually never had an automatic ;) i've been using a stearing knob that i can control with the left arm and im doing the gears with my right - I was only born without the hand on the left side ;) I never had a scratch so must be ok.

My last car was an Ford Cougar v6 - loved it.... and my first car was actually a Scirocco 79 :)

Don't have much choice really lol. Sometimes I wish I had a manual, mainly when looking for certain cars but then other times I'm happy with a dsg, auto etc.

Yeah i know what you mean - thats why i had a long hard fight when i took my driving license so i was allowed to use manual. But if you have to drive DSG/auto then look on the bright side - you could have been forced to drive crap car instead of a Scirocco ;)

Yes obviously i have but was just asking a question. Even with an automatic you still need to put into gear. Didnt intend to be offensive just wondered.

But im Glad it wasnt taken as offence. Anyway rob perhaps you can see past my comment and maybe help with the question that was asked?

Fortunately most of the cars I've wanted to own(within realistic chance of obtaining) have been available as auto. Mostly had Jap cars & 2 golfs lol
