brakes on/engine cut

hi
does anyone know if it is possible to disable this function - it cuts engine power as soon as the brake pedal is pressed, but not if the clutch is also depressed. I know that brake and throttle are not needed at the same time that much, but in other cars I have played with left foot braking, but just not possible to try with this function. Is this something that could be switched off via VAGCOM ?
I also discovered that engine power is cut whenever the handbrake is on, I suspect that could be fixed by simply removing the handbrake switch, or is that likely to throw up some error code ?
