iPod Integration

I have the latest iPod Nano 7th Generation.

I use my 3.5mm AUX socket to listen to my music while in the car. I've tried to connect it via Bluetooth but with no luck.

Does anybody know of a way i can use the iPod in conjunction with my touchscreen?
Can i get the songs to show up on the touchscreen and skip to next song if i want to?

Cheers

I haven't got a MDI socket in my car. Just the AUX socket.

Trust me Andy i'm no novice haha!! I have 2009 Rocco. I've looked everywhere and there is definitely no MDI socket.

In the arm rest i have a 6 CD multi changer and between the arm rest and handbrake i have a AUX socket.

The CD changer is an either/or option with MDI.

You can have one or the other, not both.

I had the CD changer and fitted a denon gadget that gave me an iPod connection which worked great with my RNS 510. It was cheaper than removing the CD changer and fitting a VW MDI connection.

I think you mean Dension, not Denon.

I got the car with it already installed so i had no choice.

Have you got a link of that gadget you bought? Is it easy to install? I also have the RNS 510 unit.

You can buy iPod adaptors pretty cheaply from the internet. I would recommend a VW one or the XCarLink one... it plugs into the slot of your CDC... doesn't provide full functionality but you can adjust volume, skip tracks and change playlists (up to 6 sorted alphabetically).

Yes, sorry, it was Denison.

Sextons in Wandsworth, london fitted it, the car was there for a Revo map so they did a good deal on it for me. It had full functionality, same as a factory MDI.

I dont remember the exact model sorry.
