Scirocco Central

Hi, okay so i've just bought a scirocco 2.0 tsi 08 plate. Ive spent hours looking through the forums trying to work out if it has a timing belt or chain. from what i can make out the model ive bought has a chain. But when i asked at the garage he told me it has a belt n doesnt need changing untill 100,000 miles. Is he wrong?
your help would be much appreciated.
