removing / refitting interior

Morning all,
Just purchased a full leather interior from eBay and will attempt to fit at the week. Was after some hints, tips & general advice from others who have tried this before!
I've got a feeling the door cards will be a pain from what little I've read and may be worth having spare clips if (and when) I break the originals.
I've been told as long as ignition is off when replacing i should not have to use vagcom to reset airbags sensors.
Finally - on the purchased set i have the button shown in the picture which i don't have on my current cloth seats - will this cause any issues?

That is for the electronic lumber support, so as long as they aren't in a position you don't like there should be no issue.

when removing trim, the best advice is to take it slowly, you can feel where the clips will be behind the panel and work them loose one at a time. Lee's guide on fitting powerfold mirrors will give you a good idea where the clips are in the door.

For the rear panels, it's best to do these when all the seats are out as it will give you easiest access. there are a couple of screws on each one (i think there's one on the back edge and one on the bottom edge) the rest is just normal trim clips.
When removing the panels remember there are a lot of delicate (and short) speaker wires connected to the panels so lift them off just enough to get your hand behind and disconnect the cables.

Removing the rear 1/4 panels is a bit fiddly. Did it a while ago and found a how to on the site. Can't seem to get the pictures up now though.

i managed to remove door cards with no broken clips - used trim removal tools and went slow. let me know if you want to borrow them, could well meet at rpm sunday? shredded my hands in the process, would recommend a good pair of gloves - they're sharp on the edges! i had 4 plasters on for a week!!!!

I've looked into this and it looks quite simple to do, as above look at the mk6 golf forums, there is a wiring diagram some where :-)

Do your new seats have heaters? and did your old ones?

Excellent i'll have a look on the mk6 forums - theres no wiring at all under the seat except for the airbags where as the news seats have a full block which i assume is for heated seats. I'm not going to mess about with wiring them in tho as i've just replaced the climate control display and this would mean replacing again haha
