Kenwood DNX520 and MDI

Hello guys,
Quick question I have the DNX520 and I am trying to connect my phone via MDI and nothing happens...any ideas why?Got my Scirocco used about a week ago. How does the MDI work with the DNX520 if you don't mind me explaining?I tried 1 HTC phone and one iPhone.

OEM MDI does not work with the Kenwood unit.

Great, so how can I play music from my phone via the speakers?Micro USB to USB doesn't work, bluetooth play doesn't exist?Any ideas?

I think there is a iPod connection at the back of the stereo if I remember correctly...

There is a micro USB connector on the back of the unit. The unit should work with iPhones but Android are not supported.
There is software updates here
http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk/su ... dnx520vbt/ which may work with later IOS.
Installed a couple of these units and have never been impressed with them.

Thanks for your help, so there is no way to play music via USB from an android phone on my Scirocco? Obvioulsy I can put music on USB stick but just saying...
Another questions, the MDI doesn't even have power is that normal?Was looking into charging a Bluetooth to jack adapter like this one: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, any ideas?

Is this not the kenwood stereo offered by vw as an option? If it is not an after market head unit then surely the mdi would/should work as it would with an rns or rcd???

Yes it doesn't...very strange, there is no way of chargin or playing music from and android phone...
