Newbie fixed the problem of Mdi

Recently picked up my 58plate Rocco and was impressed with the iPod connectivity, seemed to be very straight forward so I was told by the salesman. Tried numerous cables with the mdi supplied (USB mdi) but no good, decided to bite the bullet and buy an iPhone 5 direct mdi. Got it tried it still the same problems head unit stating there was no media connected 
read up a little a found it could be the software on the head unit that needed updating. Thankfully after updating the software to 2011 the head unit was now recognising the iPhone and playing the music!
So just a thought for anyone having the same problems, try updating the software
