Powertrain Warranty

Hello all,

Does anyone know if VWUK offer the 5 year powertrain warranty that covers engine and transmission that seems to have been offered since 2008 in both the US and Hong Kong?

My Scirocco has just hit 38k and turns 5 in August, but has recently developed an intermittent engine light problem.

Had my ODBII reader connected and get the P2015 error which alludes to an intake valve problem which i have read about on here and elsewhere.
Seems not a cheap fix if its out of warranty but the US and Hong Kong markets seem to get this fixed under their 5 year powertrain warranty

Dan

No they don't but the dealer / VW UK can.offer goodwill if the car has.FVWSH, especially if it's a known issue. Firstly speak to your dealer and if no joy raise it with VW Customer Services.

Well, I've had this fixed and was quoted £550 but was done for £250 with good will.
Not too bad I guess.

I did read that the fault has no impact on the power/mpg of the car, but it certainly feels torquier. Maybe that just placebo?

But one thing fixed, another broken, someone just took my mirror off at 40mph, and I had the window down too, car, and face full of wing mirror.
More expense!
