TDI 170 Stuttering when cold and under load

Hi Guys
Looking for some of your expert advice/comments
Went out to the car today which I haven't started for a few days, car started ok.
Drove off and noticed engine was stuttering anywhere over 2000 rpm (on flat road), dipped the clutch and the engine rev'ed ok all they way through the rev range. Clutch back in car stuttered again, very weird...and no warning/caution lights on dash. When car warmed up all gone.
Any ideas?
Car is 170 TDI 2011 GT model 62,000 miles.
