In Car Cameras and RNS-510

Afternoon all, I have some birthday money burning a hole and am thinking of buying an in-car / dash / windscreen mount camera. I have done some research and a key differentiator is some are purely a camera (with memory card) and some also have a small screen.
I have the RNS 510 fitted and know it's possible to get video-in displayed from stuff like a TV tuner or reversing camera. So putting the two ideas together, has anyone heard of integrating an in car camera with the VW sat nav unit?

I get the lack of responses suggests that this might not be as straight forward as I had thought.
Could anyone recommend an in-car camera that can be discreetly mounted to the windscreen as I've seen some that are hideous

So what does that offer over the MDI and standard input connectors?

I have but the only camera related bit I could see was for a reversing camera, however I would have thought there is a VW solution without a Kufatek interface.
Happy for you to point out the blindingly obvious bit I'm missing . .

Why would you want to display what is happening in front of the car on the screen in the dash? Just look through the windscreen.

it has a RGB output, so any scart device will work with it

The idea is to buy an in-car camera that is discrete, however there is a trend towards cameras with LCD screens (just look at Halfords). So the number 1 requirement is to be able to record footage from a camera (hence reversing cameras are not suitable). Number 2 is the ability to view it in-car, for example making sure the camera is pointed in the right direction but this is not necessary. This was the idea behind reusing the existing screen and existing video-in connectors.
