I broke the news. I saw it had been removed from the website the day before I was about to place a deposit on one.

Thats gutting mate. We don't see many in at work at all tbh, but they are stunning, but apparently its going to be re-released next year with the new Golf GTI engine..

TBH, I'd actually settled on the R-Line and then decided at the very last minute on a whim to go for an R, despite it pushing my budget a little more than I wanted. So I wasn't hugely fussed when I wasn't able to get the R and I ended up going for a GTS instead, with a view to possibly getting the updated R in a couple of years. A choice that I'm more than happy with.
