VCDS...

This may be a daft question but I'm contemplating adding Bluetooth to my car and changing the head unit to the RNS510, but can these be enabled when they aren't fitted? E.g. Activate SatNav GPS tomorrow and in two weeks time install the RNS510. Same with the fiscon+ etc?
Cheers

By the way is it possible to enable these (Bluetooth, satnav) at all along with the convenience settings in the low line model (2010 plate) with VCDS?

What do you mean by 'low line model'? And what do you mean by 'enabled'? If you install a sat-nav unit it will work straight away so long as you have it connected to an aerial. If you want to get navigation directions shown in your MFD (Highline), which I am guess is what you mean by 'enabled' you do need to carry out certain installation settings using VCDS.
I believe its possible to adjust the settings and installation list in conrtroller 19 ahead of an install but its not really the most sensible way to go about it as you will not get any indication that the adjustments have 'taken' without the unit actually being installed.

I.e not the highline mfd, a non-multifunction steering wheel model etc... I've read if I want to add Bluetooth Fiscon+ or voice recognition for the satnav i will need a code to activate it via VCDS.
Any ideas re the convenience settings in the mfd? I'm assuming it's impossible to activate on a non-highline mfd.

Stefan - sorry to to keep asking you questions in response to your questions - by 'convenience settings' I am guessing you mean adjustments to various settings such as door locking, coming home lights etc? If you have a 'low line' MFD this cannot be done by the driver and needs VCDS.
Not installed a Bluetooth system so not 100% sure what VCDS coding you would need - although I am guessing possibly non as without MFSW and High line MFD you do not need the BT unit to communicate with anything other than the head unit.....
