Anyone got access to EKTA ? Need some Part #'s decoding

Hi folks , I want to fit some powerfold mirrors to my GTS . The local VW stealer wasn't particularly helpful with part numbers etc , but they did tell me the cost of one mirror ( no glass or cover ) was £192 + vat :eyepop:

I saw an auction for a full set up on ebay and took a punt . The guy was in Germany but said that they were late model RHD parts and the price was right .
They've turned up and are in excellent condition. The switch is obviously from a RHD car , but i don't know if you can tell with the mirrors just by looking at them - or even what the difference would be between LHD and RHD markets ?

Edit - I guess that (for RHD) only the LH mirror has the memory function, for the 'reverse dip' option ?

I just wanted to know if someone could double check the part numbers out for me - before i attempt to fit them please ?
i.e are they RHD powerfold mirrors & controllers , does the LH mirror have reverse dip , will they fit my car ?

The numbers are ;

LH Mirror 1K8 857 501 BJ
RH Mirror 1K8 857 502 BH
Door Switch 1KA 959 565 A
Controller 1 5KO 959 792 A
Controller 2 5KO 959 793 A

I'd really appreciate it , if someone could answer these questions for me :)

As well as the switch & both mirrors ( complete ) , the seller supplied the 2 control modules - still attached to the electric door window regulator motors . They're obviously handed ( although i dont know which is which yet  )
So my other question is - do i really need to fit these motors/controllers ? cant i just re-code my existing controllers with VCDS ?

Thanks

Lee

It's ok - i've got it sorted :)

Thanks to a lovely chap called Wensleydale on another forum - i followed this link to a free online version of EKTA - http://ifinterface.com/
you need to go to "Welcome", then "Free Services", then "CarProg2" . Now STOP ! Dont use the MODEL / NAME / RELEASE / PRODUCTION lists in the middle of the screen , Instead use the drop down box at the top , next to the fields already completed as ENGLISH / VOLKSWAGEN / EUROPE +(EU) to select SCI for scirocco and then the model year drop down box will appear . Select the model year and then the MAIN GROUPS menu appears , and you can go and search for your parts !. Note - it isn't the fastest site in the world , so be patient between each selection and keep an eye out on the 'loading' icon in the top right hand area of the page.

it took me a while to figure out , but i got it working :D

I found the door mirrors under 857-40 in section 8 , although the part numbers are all over the place -Thanks again to wensleydale I worked it out from the stickers.

The left had mirror has a 6XQ suffix on the label which equates to "L/H mirror for RHD - exterior mirror housing for vehicles with electric adjustable , fold-in and heated exterior mirrors, entry lights and memory function" - There's also a tell tale MEM on the sticker ...

The right hand mirror has a 6XP suffix on the label which equates to "R/H - exterior mirror housing for vehicles with electric adjustable , fold-in and heated exterior mirrors"

Great ! , all i've got to do now is fit them and then work out how ( and what ) to code - any ideas ?

I've searched and searched and found a little bit of info in this thread http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =37&t=7679 but i'm still not clear on how exactly to perform the necessary coding - i'd appreciate any help that could be offered :)

Hello there, do you know where i can get the driver side window control unit only? Without motor? And if the part number ( 5KO 959 793 A ) is the same with vw eos, cabrio, tiguan, will it fit for rocco?

Thank you!ImageImage
