New Scirroco. Help with media and lightsz

Afternoon all,
Picked up my beaut of a car a few weeks ago. Rising Blue, 2.0L GT TSI and I love it!!! It's been a bit thirsty on the petrol but I've been very heavy footed enjoying the power.
I have a few queries:
1. Firstly I know nothing about modifications. I have what I think is high definition lights on the front, Xenon lights maybe with LED's on the front. They look blue from certain angles which is cool. They don't seem all too bright in the evening time, do they adjust as it gets darker? My old car used to light up the road pretty well even if it was slightly dark.
2. The media cable. The sound system is great with AUX, CD and SD card. When I use my phone or my girlfriends phone through the media cable it's extremely crackly. I was given the cable by Volkswagen so not sure if its sparkling new. I'm worried that its the actual input connection and not the cable which I can imagine to be expensive to fix. Had anyone had a similar experience?
