Remote unlocking problem

Returned to the parked roc yesterday and the remote keyfob was completely unresponsive (other than that the fob LED did flash when buttons were pressed - but the car didn't unlock). Unlocked with the key (setting off the alarm) then silenced the alarm by starting the engine. Tried the remote to lock/unlock again - nothing. Got home, read the manual and tried the resynchronising process (press 'unlock' then unlock with the key within a minute) - no joy. Changed the battery. Still no joy. Re-synced with the new battery in the fob - still nothing. Any suggestions, other than a faulty keyfob? Is the keyfob covered by the warranty? (Car is just under a year old).

Not unknown to have issues like this in specific areas due to RF interference from other radio sources, however normally works OK later at another location.

I would say it would be covered by warranty, along as the keyfob doesn't look as though it's been abused.

Have you confirmed the other keyfob works OK?

Thanks both. Spare keyfob works perfectly. Original still doesn't and has been tried in two locations 20 miles apart. Keyfob is scuffed and has been dropped a couple of times (whose hadn't after a year?) but I'd argue they should be robust enough to stand droppoing - I'll contact dealer and see what happens.

Dealer fixed the problem under warranty this morning - for some reason, the keyfob needed to be reprogrammed. All's fine now.
