i need some advice, my roc is due a service but cant get booked in til saturday, it says service due but how much can i drive? i checked the oil and it seems low. but i have had no warning light? i travel 27 miles a day. i bought some oil but have only a put a little in . its because i needed it quite bad.
Unless the oil light was on, the dip was showing it to be very low or the car started behaving funny, a couple of days shouldn't make the slightest bit of difference.
For future reference the oil you want is 5w30 that meets VW504.00/507.00. That oil is a little thick when cold but you should be OK as ambient temperatures are up a bit and you've only added a little.
Castrol Edge or any other brand tbat meets the above spec.is what you want.
You'll be fine until Saturday, VW give you 1,000 miles grace.

You only put in part synth?? Should've gone for Castrol Edge.
But as long as your dipstick is showing oil then you'll be ok til Saturday.

Sincs- yeah im not going to lie, i dont really tend to know about oil and stuff. i really should but hey! i rang volkswagen and they have said you should go for 5w30. then my mind was like oh f#ck!!! what have i done.
the car is showing oil, i didnt know the roc has a oil warning light so thats good to know for future reference,, hope my baby survives.
