Scirocco Central

Hi,

I recently got a used deep black rocco on a 2011 plate. Washed it for the first time at the weekend and noticed the front of the bonnet is peppered with some small marks. I've run my finger across them and most can't be felt. But they're bugging me. I love the car and want get them sorted.

Its an approved used car from a VW dealership. So I'm thinking I'll go back to them as it's still within the 3 year paintwork warranty.

I'm a bit worried VW will say it's wear and tear so not covered. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Would be grateful for any advice on this.

Update - VW confirmed it would be classed as wear and tear and not covered, so I've contacted Willenhall Coachcraft, near where I am in the West Midlands. They have a VW body shop and can do an assessment if I drop the car in.

Although I'm also wondering if an independent detailer would do this sort of repair. Again if anyone has any advice on this that would be great.

I cant help on your issues, but I had some paint work done a Reynolds of Rushock, who are over by Droitwich. Literally 10 mins off the M5, so not far from you. They are VAG approved, and are great guys to deal with.

Cheers for the recommendation. I'll get in touch with them. Autobrite are also close to where I am and have said they can take a look. So I've got a few options.

They are also Porsche approved, well its part of VAG, so that should be a good sign.

I would like to help - but you only describe the problem as 'small marks' then immediately move the topic towards dicussion about re-spraying. Are these 'markd' chips (can you see pale grey primer?) or some other kind of contimantion which may be able to be removed with a clay bar for example? Or are they scratches of some sort that me be able to be machine polished out?
