Two Tow eye(s)!?...

Hey all

So I've had a knocking noise in my boot for a while, so decided for the first time of ownership to remove the load liner and see whats underneath.. Should have really done this on purchase, but hey.. :)

To my suprise, I've uncovered two tow eyes, one of which doesn't seem to have a home in the foam cut out... Should I have two? (one is silver, one black, different part numbers).. and if so where is the second meant to live without rattling?

Appreciate your view!

Thanks
Martin

The black one (rear mount) has no real home. Just secure it somewhere.

Ok cool. Thought it was weird and checked the manual and it only mentioned one hook too. Figured it could be front and rear, thank you :)

Its in the earlier manuals (3.2 Tips & Maintenance) just after the front tow hook instructions at the rear of the manual. Not the section on Tools mid manual pages.

Its really a shipping lashing point for ships and transporters and I'd be reluctant to tow any real weight with it. You can see the the difference between it and the front one for the Scirocco's weight. There are no warnings against pulling another car to discourage you. The rear bumper frame to which it is attached is not cleared for towing as discussed elesewhere.

More for pulling the Scirocco out of a ditch.
