Car cutting out... no faults found

Hi All,
So i've been a happy owner of the 2.0 TDI DSG for about 2 months now. No problems up until last night. Was driving home in rush hour, coming up to a set of traffic lights so braked and the car went down the gears on the dash 6,5,4,3,2,1,D then cut out. Lost all power.... tried to re-start and no joy, would make noise but not actually start, ended up towing the car to a friends garage, at that point after listening to the car he believed it to be something sinister like a cambelt... said the noise wasn't good. After half an hour ran the car on a diagnostics which bought up no fault codes at all. Tried to start the car which started first time. He took the car out and put it through its paces, believed it to be ok... so far today its been fine but obviously im concerned. The car was left sat for 10 days while i was on holiday so he suggested it could be something in the injector or oil filter? Has anyone experienced anything like this???
